At the beach

Yesterday I took the opportunity to take the kids to the beach. I figured it would probably be our last beach day of the year. The kids had a great time exploring the beach since it was low tide. Ethan especially enjoyed hunting for small crabs and torturing them it seemed. Cameron is holding a branch covered with barnicles that he was particularly proud of. I let Laurel run and run. She loves the water! How lucky we are to live in Sequim, with the beach, mountains, and many other amazing things to do and see. It has truly been a fun summer for me and the kids!

Whoa, Mama!

This is a picture of one tired mama! This month has been especially sleepless for me. I am exhausted. This baby inside me is big and active, especially at 3:30 a.m.! He feels like an elephant at the circus in there! Yikes.

The other picture is of the kittens that were born on the

23rd. We knew that the cat would have babies about the same time I was due. It was a toss up who would go first. Too bad, she won. I was jealous. (Still am, being that I am 3 days past my due date.) Come soon, little one, we want to play with you!

Cameron turns 4

Cameron has been planning his Superhero birthday party for about half a year. He loves superheroes, so I indulged him in this fantasy and he was "SUPER Cameron" for the day. The kids had so much fun. Luckily we didn't invite too many people, because the events leading up to the party were stressful enough.

Let me explain. I, being the crazy mother that I am, make a special cake for each of my kids birthdays. They figured out early on that I enjoy decorating cakes, so usually when they are thinking about what kind of party they want it is usually all about the cake. That week was a fairly warm week, and the day before the party was very warm. So I didn't want to heat up the house the night before by baking the cake. I did it the morning before the party, which left me rushed to put out the exact order for the cake. (It had to be green inside, like Kypotonite, and have the super Cameron symbol on top.) In the middle of baking and preparing to decorate, I suddenly saw a river floating down the hall. Cameron was taking a bath, but Laurel decided to put ALL of her bedding and stuffed animals in the tub. I guess she thought Cameron needed company in there, and Cameron felt crowded and threw out all the paraphernalia. It was not good timing! Anyway, a good friend offered to take the kids until I was ready for the party. I took that offer so promptly, that I didn't even really clean up the river until I got back to the house.

Well, obviously, the cake and party turned out great. Walt was our Scarlet Pineappler, our super villian. The kids enjoyed jumping on him and binding him up. He was such a great sport. I forgot the candles for the cake, but oh well. Cameron is 4 and I am glad to be done with his party until next year. Happy Birthday to me too.

Ethan's 1st Lost Tooth

Ethan lost his first tooth back late in June. He is so proud of it. He shows everyone. I marvel at just how fast and big his is growing. He is a great kid. Lately, he makes me laugh so hard. I can truly see he is developing a sense of humor.

My first attempt

Well, this is my first attempt at doing this. Walt says that blogs are a fad and no one keeps up with them. Oh, well. I'm still excited and want to share our lives with friends and family. I am hoping that this might be a more effective means to doing just that.
This picture is over 3 months old. Our beautiful little girl turned 2! I can barely believe she is growing so quickly, and that our fourth child is very soon to be here. I loved this picture of Walt and Laurel. Just adorable, both of them!
